The company - Heldener Metall Technik GmbH & Co. KG

HMT GmbH & Co. KG was founded by Dr. Karl Heinz Virnich in 1997, in the Attendorn district of Helden, which forms part of the company name. In 2002, we moved into our own premises, with a surface area of 12,000 m². In 2007, our branch plant in Poland opened, in Sroda Slaska (Lower Silesia). Significant machinery purchases were made in 2009 - with the first 800 t servo press - and 2011 - with the first laser welding cells (4 KW). After moving our in-house logistics to the Askay logistics centre, we expanded our machine pool with a hybrid bonding plant (2014) and a 1,000 t servo press (2015) for the Attendorn plant. Our plant in Mexico will start up in 2018.

HMT in Germany

The Biggen plant has a total floor space of 16,000 m². 312 employees produce our product portfolio in shifts here. Our Askay logistics centre has a surface area of 3,500 m² and employs 30 people.

HMT in Poland

Our subsidiary in Poland (Heldener Metalltechnik Polska Sp. z o.o. & Co. Sp.K) has a floor space of 6,500 m² and around 290 employees. It produces prefabricated parts for the HMT value creation chain that are further processed in Germany before reaching the market. The plant also produces punched parts that are sold locally, including to General Motors and to some producers of niche vehicles. 

HMT in Mexico

Our location in Puebla (Mexico) was opened in 2018. It acts as a logistics and production location. More information to follow!

Experts for today and tomorrow

Our 6 design engineers and 49 toolmakers are extremely important members of staff, since they develop and provide the bases for our ultra-precise production. We also place great value on promoting the next generation. That's why we're training up 20 young people to become toolmakers, cutting machine operators, industrial mechanics, industrial managers, IT specialists, machine and plant operators, material inspectors, and warehouse logistics experts.
